JROTC: The Benefits of Joining

Showing off her JROTC uniform, junior Carly Flegal poses with classmates on Nov. 1.

“This is my third year in JROTC and it’s the best thing that has ever happened to me. Not only does it teach you life skills, but also how to be a better leader and person. There are many opportunities to be an active member in the community and to build physical strength,” junior Carly Flegal said. “My freshman year I was this quiet, shy book nerd and JROTC got me out of my comfort zone. It taught me that I have a lot of leadership potential not just in a military perspective but for when I step out in the real world.”
