Students on the 2017 boys and girls tennis team are prepared to work to win State. Coaches are pushing their teams to be the best they can be by constantly motivating and training them.

“Tennis is a fun and lifetime sport,” boys tennis Coach Graves said. “Our goal is to win every game and make it to the State championship.”

Boys tennis Coach Graves and girls tennis Coach Langdon are excited to have such talented players this year, and it is due to the students’ dedication and determination. High expectations to win motivate these teams to go the extra mile.

“We have very high expectations,” girls tennis Coach Langdon said. “We’re trying to improve every single day. Improvement will lead to success and championships. That theory is so simple. It’s about setting the foundation for future pushes. It’s meshing the talent in place with a new philosophy.”

Returning students are eager to win and help new athletes become the best they can be. The team captains are making sure that their fellow teammates are on task and pushing their peers to do their best.

“I’m really looking forward to new experiences that will help me and our team grow. Each player brings a different ability and strength to the game. As we head into season, our goal is to be able to push each other to the next level,” girls team captain and senior Mikaya Hamilton said. “I’m honored and excited to have this opportunity again.”
